Sunday, November 30, 2008 - The First Sunday in Advent

We will be beginning this season of preparation and anticipation with the making of Advent wreaths. You are invited to join us after the 10:00 service for fun and for fellowship and to make yourself a wreath. Greens are provided and rings and candles are available for a small donation. If you have your own ring, make sure you bring it with you. This is always a good time and an enjoyable way to start the season of Advent.

Thursday, December 4 at 7:30 PM - Parish Meeting

There will be a parish-wide meeting to talk about the possibility that has been raised of St. George's and St. James in Old Bowie merging our two churches. It is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ask questions about the merger process, as the vestry starts to discern whether we want to engage in more formal conversation about the possibility of merger with St. James. If you would like to attend this meeting and need a ride, please call the office. The meeting will last about two hours.

Thursday, December 11 at 7:00 PM - New Elevator Celebration

You are invited to come for refreshments, enjoyment and perhaps even elevator rides! The first rector of St. George's, the Rev. Michael Hopkins, will be here to help celebrate, so I hope you can be there as well.

Sunday, December 14, 2008 - Holiday Dinner

Come and join us as we celebrate Advent and the coming Holidays for a festive holiday meal. Enjoy the good company, good food, and entertainment provided by Jessica Johnson, Amy C. Kraft and friends.

Please sign up to bring a dish to share and sign up if you and your friends plan to attend. The cost is $12 and $6 (for those over 62 or under 12). This is another chance to help raise funds for our ministries at St. George's and to enjoy another evening of fun and jocularity. The festivities will begin at 5:30. See you there.
